MOORHEAD, MN– The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Kansas City T-Bones’ INF Zach Walters (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 17.

Since the end of  last Sunday, Walters’ batting average has jumped from .255 to .310. During that seven game span, Walters has batted an astounding .452 with two home runs and 10 RBIs.

Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that Walters, who has 85 games of major league experience under his belt, found his groove. A former ninth round pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010, Walters most recent stop in the bigs was a three-game stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016. This season is the former University of San Diego Aztecs’ first in independent ball.
