ST. PAUL, MN (Via the St. Paul Saints)– In 2016 the St. Paul Saints put on the American Association All-Star Game that played to rave reviews. The two-day festivities culminated in an extremely entertaining and competitive game. The organization didn’t have to wait long to hold the league’s mid-summer classic again, as the American Association announced CHS Field will host the 2019 American Association All-Star Game.
CHS Field, widely recognized as one of the top ballparks in all of minor league baseball, will have an opportunity to highlight the new ammenities since the last time they hosted the All-Star Game: the upgraded Craft Beer Corner, the new HealthPartners PowerUp Play Zone, and coming in 2019 a 2,300 square foot state-of-the-art museum celebrating the history of professional baseball in St. Paul dating back to the 19th century, which will feature a rooftop party deck.
The 2019 schedule, along with the date of the All-Star Game, will be announced following the 2018 season. The American Association didn’t hold an All-Star Game this year, but the last time it was held was in 2017 in conjunction with the Can-Am League and was hosted by the Can-Am League’s Ottawa Champions. It’s the first time the same team has hosted consecutive All-Star Games within the American Association.

When the Saints hosted the 2016 All-Star Game, on August 2, the North defeated the South 6-1 and Saints pitcher Mark Hamburger started the game and earned the victory.
“We are tremendously excited to work with the St. Paul Saints,” said American Association Commissioner Miles Wolff. “They are one of the premiere franchises in all of baseball, and we couldn’t be happier to have the 2019 All Star Game at beautiful CHS Field.”
Season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to obtain tickets to the mid-summer classic at CHS Field. All fans renewing season tickets or purchasing a new 2019 season ticket package will have the game included in their package. Once the 2019 American Association schedule is released, groups of 100 or more that attended a 2018 game at CHS Field will have the next opportunity to purchase All-Star Game tickets. Finally, Saints single-game tickets will go on sale in March and the All-Star game will be available to the general public at that time
This will be the fourth time the Saints have hosted the All-Star game and third in the American Association. In addition to 2016, the Saints hosted the first Northern League All-Star Game on August 4, 1997 as the East defeated the West 2-1. The second All-Star game at Midway Stadium was on July 22, 2008 an 11-4 victory for the South over the North. Each time the Saints hosted the All-Star game they reached the playoffs the year before, winning it all in 1996, reaching the championship series, but losing in the fifth and deciding game in 2007, and finishing 74-26 in 2015 before losing three-games-to-one to Sioux City in the Division Round. Saints manager Marty Scott was at the helm for the 1997 West Division team and George Tsamis managed the North Division All-Stars at Midway Stadium in 2008. He was a part of the coaching staff for the 2016 Mid-Summer Classic.
Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value. Tickets begin at $5 for the Treasure Island berm seating (available only on day of game in person at the box office), $6 for SPLASH Zone bleacher seats, $14 for outfield reserved, $16 for the drink rail and $18 for infield reserved and home plate reserved. Friday Home Games with Post-Game Fireworks are an additional $2 per ticket. Post-Game Fireworks Supershow (September 2) are an additional $3 per ticket. Tickets purchased on the day of the game are an additional $2 per ticket. Children under the age of 14 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don’t require a seat are free.
The Saints Box Office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. On game days, the Box Office will open at 9 a.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday and will remain open until 15 minutes following each game.
