CANARIES WIN WILD, 11-INNING AFFAIR WITH DOGS

Sioux Falls 12, Chicago 11 (11 Innings) – Box Score

The Sioux Falls Canaries survived a wild ninth inning and eventually walked off on the Chicago Dogs 12-11 in the 11th inning.

The Canaries took a 9-1 lead into the ninth inning but the Dogs had other plans. Chicago loaded up the bases and then drew four consecutive walks and then DH Tyler Ladendorf hit a grand slam. Two batters later, RF Victor Roache (2-for-5) hit a two-run shot to give the Dogs a 11-9 lead. In the bottom of the inning, RF Clint Coulter (3-for-6) doubled to score 1B Alay Lago (2-for-6) and the he scored when CF Logan Landon (4-for-6) singled, tying the game and forcing extra innings.

After a scoreless 10th, Coulter singled with one out and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Landon hit the game-ending single that scored Coulter and gave the Canaries the win.

 

 

Milwaukee 4, Fargo-Moorhead 2 – Box Score

The Milwaukee Milkmen took the first game of their series with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 4-2 on Friday night at Franklin Field.

The Milkmen took the lead in the bottom of the first inning as DH Adam Walker hit a two-run home run. In the second, C Dylan Kelly singled home 3B Leobaldo Pina but the Milkmen answered in the bottom of the inning as C Christ Conley (3-for-3) singled to score SS Mason Davis. Davis scored again in the fifth a lead-off home run.

The RedHawks scored the final run of the day when DH Dario Pizzano bounced into a fielder’s choice that allowed RF Correlle Prime (3-for-4).

Starting pitcher Ryan Kussmaul earned the win for working 5.2 innings and giving up one run on seven hits while striking out four batters.              

 

St. Paul vs. Winnipeg (Postponed – Travel Issues)

The game between the St. Paul Saints and the Winnipeg Goldeyes was postponed due to Winnipeg travel issues. The game will be made up as a part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 1, beginning at 1 p.m. Central Time in Fargo.
