Winnipeg 6, Lincoln 5- Box

A three-run bottom of the ninth inning rally pushed the host Goldeyes to a stunning 6-5 win over the Saltdogs Sunday. 2B Casio Grider began the rally with a leadoff solo home run to trim Lincoln’s lead to 5-4. With two outs and the bases empty, C Carlton Tanabe singled to left field. Following a single by LF Adam Heisler, pinch runner Josh Romanski advanced to third. The game tying-run scored on a balk, and SS Maikol Gonzalez won the contest with an RBI single to plate Heisler.

Tanabe and Heisler had two hits apiece for Winnipeg, but RF David Rohm paced the club with three. 1B Jacob Rogers added a fifth-inning solo homer for the Goldeyes.

RHP Jailen Peguero recorded the final out from the bullpen to earn the win.

For Lincoln, 1B Rene Leveret went 2-for-4 with a home run, his third of the season.

Kansas City 12, Sioux City 8- Box

The visiting T-Bones scored in five consecutive innings from the fourth through the eighth, plating eight of their 12 runs in a 12-8 win over the Explorers. Kansas City’s biggest inning of the day, though, was the four-run first, highlighted by a two-run double by C Steve Swingle. CF Tyler Massey hit his third home run of the season, a solo shot to lead off the fifth for the T-Bones. An inning later, 2B Brett Wiley connected on his first homer of the season. Those blasts set the table for a three-run seventh and two-run eighth to put the game away.

3B Brandon Tierney was 3-for-5 with three RBI in the win, while 1B Jake Blackwood drove in a team-high four runs.

RHP Johnny Shuttlesworth picked up the win for the T-Bones, striking out four in five innings.

1B Noah Perio was 3-for-5 for Sioux City.

The AirHogs broke open a 1-1 game with seven runs over the game’s last three frames to take an 8-1 win Sunday in Joplin. 2B Brian Bistagne broke the draw with a solo homer to begin the top of the seventh, an inning that would yield four runs for Texas. DH Will DuPont collected a solo homer of his own in the eighth to pad the AirHogs’ lead, but Texas would erase all doubt with a two-run ninth, with both runs coming on Bistagne’s second homer of the game, this one a two-run shot.

Bistagne, RF Cody Lenahan and CF Michael Hur had two hits each for Texas. LHP Griffin Russell tossed six innings, striking out eight, and allowing just one unearned run to take the win.
