Fargo-Moorhead 6, Gary SouthShore 5 – Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks rallied for six runs in the ninth inning to walk off on the Gary SouthShore RailCats 6-5.
The RailCats took the early lead in the top of the second when SS Hayden Schilling (2-for-4) tripled home RF Colin Willis (2-for-4) and 3B Randy Santiesteban and then scored himself when 2B Andy DeJesus bounced out to second. In the top of the ninth, the RailCats pushed the lead to 5-0 as Willis doubled home DH Marcus Mooney and then scored later in the inning when Schilling singled.
In the bottom of the ninth, pinch hitter Chris Jacobs plated the RedHawks’ first run of the game with a double that scored 1B Correlle Prime. In the next at-bat, 2B Carlos Garcia (2-for-4) hit a three-run home run and, on the very next pitch, C Brian Olson homered to tie the game at 5-5. SS Yhoxian Medina singled after Olson’s blast and then scored the game-winning run when OF Brennan Metzger (2-for-5) doubled three pitches later.
Texas 6, Lincoln 5 – Box Score
The Texas AirHogs walked off on the Lincoln Saltdogs with a ninth-inning RBI single from 1B Chen Junpeng.
In the bottom of the first inning, CF Javion Randle (3-for-4) put the AirHogs on the board with a single that plated OF Justin Byrd (2-for-5). Junpeng singled later in the inning to score both Randle and 2B/RF Stewart Ijames. The Saltdogs jumped in front in the top of the second when RF Kyle Kinman drew a bases-loaded walk and, in the next at-bat, SS Christian Ibarra hit a grand slam.
In the bottom of the second, DH Na Chuang singled home 2B Aaron Bell to pull the AirHogs back to within a run at 5-4. Randle eventually tied the score in the sixth with a single that scored LF Lu YuHang.
In the ninth, Byrd hit a lead-off triple and both Randle and Ijames were intentionally walked to load the bases. After Chuang bounced into a fielder’s choice, Junpeng (2-for-5) singled to plate Randle and end the game.
Kansas City 6, Sioux City 3 – Box Score
The Kansas City T-Bones jumped out to an early lead and held on to top the Sioux City Explorers 6-3.
In the top of the first inning the T-Bones loaded up the bases and DH Roy Morales drew a walk to push the first run across. SS Shawn O’Malley reached on a fielder’s choice to plate CF Mason Davis (3-for-5) and OF Danny Mars (3-for-5) singled home Morales to give the T-Bones a quick 3-0 lead. In the bottom half, SS Nate Samson singled home CF Kyle Wren to draw one back for the Explorers.
Sioux City pulled to within one with runs in the sixth and seventh but the T-Bones pulled away in the top of the eighth inning. Kansas City loaded the bases again in the eighth and 2B Dylan Tice (2-for-3) drew a walk to plate another run and Davis singled to score Mars.
Chicago 6, Milwaukee 0 – Box Score
The Chicago Dogs blanked the Milwaukee Milkmen 6-0 for their 50th win of 2019.
Chicago took control in the first inning when 3B Jordan Dean cleared the bases with a double that scored 1B Keon Barnum, RF Victor Roache and DH Kelly Dugan (2-for-4). LF Tony Rosselli added a solo home run in the second to push the lead to 4-0. Barnum (3-for-4) tacked on a pair of solo shots – one in the sixth and another in the eighth – to give the Dogs the final 6-0 margin.
For the Milkmen, CF Derek Reddy went 2-for-5 and DH Glen McClain went 2-for-3.
Cleburne 16, Sioux Falls 6 – Box Score
Behind a 21-hit performance, the Cleburne Railroaders handled the Sioux Falls Canaries 16-6.
All nine Railroaders recorded hits in the game and seven of them had multi-hit nights. 3B Chase Simpson went 4-for-5 with five RBIs including two home runs to give him 19 on the year. 2B Ryan Brett, C Logan Trowbridge and 1B Grant Buck each had three-hit performances; Buck had four RBIs and Brett had two RBI including a solo home run.
For the Canaries, RF Clint Coulter and LF Mike Hart had two hits and two RBIs.
St. Paul 17, Winnipeg 5 – Box Score
The St. Paul Saints racked up 21 hits on the way to a 17-5 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The win marks six in a row for the Saints.
All nine started recorded at least one hit and eight of the nine recorded a run or an RBI. SS Chris Baker led the way as he went 4-for-6 with five RBIs and a pair of runs scored. DH Brady Shoemaker also had a four-hit performance with three RBIs and three runs scored. RF Michael Lang and 2B Josh Allen each had three hits in the game including Allen’s 16th home run of the year.
For the Goldeyes, 1B Dominic Ficociello went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs and CF Reggie Abercrombie added a pair of hits and a run scored.
