The Sioux Falls Canaries scored five runs in the sixth and seventh innings to slide past the Sioux City Explorers 6-4.

Both teams put up a run in the fourth inning as CF Tim Colwell singled home RF Michael Lang in the top of the inning and DH J.C Linares singled to plate 2B Darwin Perez in the bottom. In the top of the sixth, Colwell added another RBI with a sac fly and 2B Tommy Mendonca doubled to plate C Brendan Slattery. Sioux City added another unearned run on an error. But in the bottom of the sixth, the Canaries took the lead when Linares, RF Rubi Silva and LF Cameron Monger hit back-to-back-to-back RBI singles.

Monger’s single plated both Silva and Linares. The Canaries tacked on an insurance run in the seventh when Perez scored as Linares reached on an error. For the game, SS Blake Schmit as well as Linares, Silva and Monger each had two hits. 3B Ozney Guillen went 3-for-4 to lead the team.
