T-BONES WALK OFF ON DOGS IN 10 INNINGS

Kansas City 4, Chicago 3 – Box Score

The Kansas City T-Bones walked off on the Chicago Dogs 4-3 in 10 innings in Saturday night.

The game was tied 3-3 after nine innings and the T-Bones retired the Dogs in order in the top of the 10th before going to work in the bottom of the frame. C Adrian Nieto (2-for-4) singled to start off the inning, took second as 2B Alay Lago (2-for-3) singled and advanced to third when LF Keith Curcio (2-for-4) singled. After a pitching change and a strikeout, SS Dylan Tice (2-for-5) hit a single that plated Nieto for the game-ending run.

For the Dogs, RF Rubi Silva and 1B Dalton Blaser each had a pair of hits.

 

Sioux City 2, Lincoln 1 – Box Score

The Sioux City Explorers became the first team to hit 50 win as they slid past the Lincoln Saltdogs 2-1.

The Explorers scored both of their runs in the bottom of the third inning when LF Jay Austin (2-for-4) doubled him both CF Luis Durango and RF Michael Lang. The Saltdogs only run came in the fifth inning when C Dashenko Ricardo (2-for-4) scored after DH Jamey Smart singled.

CF T.J. Bennett added a 2-for-4 performance for the Saltdogs. Explorer starting pitcher Taylor Jordan (9-2) earned the win after throwing seven innings and giving up seven hits while striking out seven batters.

 

Wichita 4, Sioux Falls 0 – Box Score

A gem from starting pitcher Travis Banwart propelled the Wichita Wingnuts to a 4-0 win against the Sioxu Falls Canaries.

Banwart worked eight innings as he picked up the win and allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out five batters. The win moves him to 5-2 on the season. The Wingnuts backed him up at the plate as DH Abel Nieves (2-for-3) singled home CF Zach Nehrir in the top of the fourth inning.

Wichita added three more runs in the seventh as SS Leo Vargas singled home C John Nester and 2B Logan Watkins (2-for-5) singled (and took second on an error) to allow 1B/C Logan Trowbridge and Rf Nick Rotola to score.

The Canaries had just three hits on the night, each from a different batter.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 7, Winnipeg 4 — Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks used two big swings to take a 7-4 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes.

A three-run home run from 1B Chris Jacobs in the first inning gave the visitors a 3-0 lead; marking Jacobs’ ninth blast of 2018. Winnipeg pulled within a run in the bottom of the fourth when 1B/RF Jordan Ebert tripled home 3B Josh Mazzola and scored when C Tyler Baker doubled. The RedHawks pulled away with a grand slam from RF Tim Colwell (3-for-4) in the seventh inning.

Winnipeg added two runs in the bottom of the seventh thanks to RBIs from SS Matt McCann (2-for-4) and DH Josh Romanski (2-for-5) but never pulled any closer in the final two frames.

 

Gary SouthShore 11, Cleburne 4 – Box Score

The Gary SouthShore RailCats used an eight-run second to roll past the Cleburne Railroaders 11-4.

The RailCats racked up 10 hits in the game and saw two-hit performances from three different batters. 2B Cole Fabio went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. C Wilfredo Gimenez also went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and 3B Will Savage went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. DH Tillman Pugh and LF Ronnie Mitchell each homered in the game.

For the Railroaders, LF Trevor Sealey went 2-for-4 with a run scored and 1B Levi Scott went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs.

 

Texas 14, St. Paul 9 – Box Score

The Texas AirHogs poured in 20 hits and scored in six of the nine innings as they dropped the St. Paul Saints 14-9.

All nine of the AirHogs batters in the game recorded at least one hit and six of them had multi-hit games. LF Dillon Thomas led the way with a 4-for-6 performance that included two home runs, four RBIs, and four runs scored. Both 1B Correlle Prime and DH Chen Junpeng went 3-for-6 with two runs scored and CF Lu Zhenhong went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. RF Stewart Ijames and SS Y Jin added a pair of hits each.

For the Saints, DH Matt Snyder went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and CF Max Murphy, LF Burt Reynolds and RF Nathaniel Maggio each had two hits and two RBIs.
