TENBRINK'S 7 RBI BOOST T-BONES TO WIN AGAINST LINCOLN

Kansas City 11, Lincoln 0Box Score

The Kansas City T-Bones toppled the Lincoln Saltdogs 11-0 behind a seven-RBI game from 3B Nate Tenbrink.

In the top of the second, LF Adam Bailey opened the inning with a walk and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from C Brian Erie. In the next at bat, DH James Boddicker hit an RBI single to score CF Robby Kuzdale. Later in the inning, Tenbrink cleared the bases with a grand slam. In the sixth, Tenbrink scored two runs with a double and he homered again in the top of the eighth.

Starting pitcher Kris Regas earned the win for tossing six innings and allowing just three hits. Regas struck out five batters. Lincoln 3B Curt Smith had a team-high two hits.

 

Sussex County 8, Fargo-Moorhead 7 – Final/10 Innings  — Box Score

The Sussex County Miners walked off on the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 8-7 as RF Jon Dziomba doubled to score DH Devin Thaut in the bottom of the tenth inning.

The Miners scored five runs in the eighth inning to take a two-run lead into the ninth inning but the RedHawks tied the score as OF Chad Mozingo hit a RBI triple and then scored on a wild pitch. In the tenth, Thaut walked and then moved to second as 2B Ryan Pineda also walked. Dziomba came up with his first hit of the night to end the game.

CF Johnny Bladel led had a game-high three hits and 1B Kenny Bryant, SS Cory Morales and Pineda each had a pair of RBI. For the RedHawks, SS Zach Penprase and 1B/C Joe Staley each had two hits.

 

Joplin 11, Amarillo 9  — Box Score

The Joplin Blasters outlasted the Amarillo Thunderheads 11-9 in a 27-hit slug fest on Saturday.

Seven different Blasters had hits in the game and leadoff man SS Maikol Gonzalez had three hits, two of them home runs, and had four RBI. Three other Blasters – DH Jake Taylor, 1B Omar Luna, and 3B Aaron Brill – each had two-hit games. For the Thunderheads, 2B Juan Martinez went 5-for-5 and was one of four Amarillo batters to hit a home run in the game. All nine Thunderheads had at least one hit in the game and three of them had multi-hit games.

On the bump, reliever Matt Parish earned the win despite allowing four runs on four hits and recording just one out in the fifth inning. Reliever Winston Abreu earned a five-out save and had five strikeouts.

 

St. Paul 15, Sioux Falls 4  — Box Score

The St. Paul Saints went to work at the plate on Saturday night and came away with 15 runs on 19 hits as they took care of the Sioux Falls Canaries 15-4.

The Saints scored runs in six of the nine innings and put up five runs in both the seventh and ninth innings. All nine Saints that went to the plate recorded at least one hit and seven of them had multi-hit games SS Anthony Phillips was one of three batters to have three hits in the game and had a game-high four RBI. 1B Angelo Songco also had three hits and a pair of RBI and leadoff man CF Alonzo Harris also went 3-for-6 with four runs scored and an RBI. RF Mike Kvasnicka went 2-for-5 with three RBI.

For the Canaries, both LF Chris Grayson and SS Jerome Pena had two hits and an RBI. 1B David Bergin had a two-run home run in the fifth.

 

Wichita 4, Grand Prairie 2 Box Score

The Wichita Wingnuts closed out a sweep of the Grand Prairie AirHogs behind a two-run home run by 2B Starlin Rodriguez.

The Wingnuts struck first with a run in the second on a fielder’s choice by LF Harrison Kain. C Zane Chavez doubled home a pair of runs in the third to give the AirHogs a 2-1 lead. SS Luis Hernandez tied the game with an RBI double in the top of the fourth and Rodriguez’ fifth-inning blast plated a pair of runs and proved to be the distance.

Starting pitcher Jason Van Skike earned the win as he went six innings and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three. Reliever Dakota Watts picked up the save for as he worked the ninth.

 

Winnipeg 10, Gary SouthShore 0  — Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes handled the Gary SouthShore RailCats 10-0 with the considerable help of starting pitcher Nick Hernandez’ complete game performance.

Hernandez earned his seventh win of the season Saturday as he tossed nine shutout innings. He issued just one walk and struck out five batters in the game. Hernandez threw 106 pitches and 76 of them went for strikes. The Goldeyes backed up Hernandez with 10 runs on 16 hits and got things started right away with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Nine different Goldeyes registered at least one hit in the game and both 1B Casey Haerther and 3B Josh Mazzola had three hits and four RBI to lead the way. C Jaime Del Valle led the way for the RailCats with two hits.

 

 

Laredo 9, Sioux City 2 Box Score

The Laredo Lemurs put up runs early and often on their way to a 9-2 win against the Sioux City Explorers.

The Lemurs scored a run in the first and two more in the second to take an early led. Laredo added two more in the fourth and four more – two on a double from DH Jeudy Valdez and two on a home run by 1B Dustin Geiger – in the sixth. Geiger went 2-for-5 and the blast was his 11th of the season. Valdez had a game-high three RBI on three hits. SS Jarred Mederos also had three hits and he scored three runs.

For the Explorers, five different batters each had one hit. Starting pitcher Matt Loosen was the winner for tossing five innings and allowing one run on four hits. He had six strikeouts in the game.
