DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Wichita Wingnuts OF Carlo Testa (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending July 13.
Testa, named an American Association All-Star today, had three multi-hit games this week. On Monday against the Sioux Falls Canaries, he was 4-for-5 in a 14-4 win. Testa had a double and a triple in the game. After a 1-for-4 night with a run scored on Tuesday, Testa turned in a 3-for-4 performance on Friday against the Amarillo Sox. He had a triple, two RBI and four runs scored in the game, as he walked once. The Wingnuts won 10-4. Testa was 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in a 5-4 win Saturday, and finished the week by going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, three RBI and a run scored in a 5-1 win on Sunday over Amarillo.
Testa is now hitting .349 for the season with 15 doubles, eight triples, four home runs and 36 RBI in his first season for the Wingnuts.
Wichita opens a road series at the Grand Prairie AirHogs on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. Central time in Grand Prairie, Texas.
